Hello All

I have recently mounted my Vision 1 on the ceiling but had to remove some weight in order to do so. Items removed were the lenses (HFQ) , and both power supplies.
That's all fine and dandy but as of yesterday my beloved V1 is blanking the image every few minutes Sad . It has been up and running prior to this problem occurring since thanksgiving weekend and now I wonder if I have a HVPS problem. I had taken some compressed air to the pj whilst the power supplies were out because I did notice lots of dust.

Another weird issue that I've noticed since placing upside down from the ceiling is the feint (but very noticeable) brown sections on the outer edges (horizontally top and bottom) of an all white image. This can be reduced by turning contrast down to 42. What would cause this do you think. Was not evident when floor mounted.

With 963 hrs on the clock , it seems rather offish to have these problems so early in its life. I have not even placed the covers yet because I had been setting magnetics , astig and all that dangerous stuff shortly after mounting.

Any suggestions would be most kindly accepted. I will in the mean time remove and check contacts of P supply.

Thanks in advance

Mark

Whoooaaa, quick update before we all jump to conclusions.... I wondered what else I did differently before yesterday , Lo and behold it happens that I had started using the old Toshiba HD player to watch some HD material.
I have since swopped back to the PS 3 and now no blanking out.
Could be the cheapy cable but why does the PS 3 not have the same issue. My conclusion for now is the HD player itself since I have not changed anything else.
Go figure

Hello

Your V1, a.k.a. Marquee 9500, would interpret any interruption in sync pulses as a switching of signal sources, and would deliberately blank the screen so a scrambled image is not displayed, so what you are seeing may have an explanation

hard to say, what's your screen material" certain materials will behave differently on floor vs. ceiling.

Check your color temperature zones. Make sure the upper lower zones aren't turned way down on blue or green (default is 50, although you can bump the corners up to 60 for more uniform screen brightness)

Could also be banding. Pick and unused channel and neutralize convergence by pushing the number 0 in any convergence menu. If the brown disappears then it's banding (more common on ceiling mount than floor)
