Has anyone got and really good round dot test patterns I can use to set the astig?

The CineMAX doesn't have a round dot pattern at all. ( they look like squares to me, but my eye sight isn't what it used to be... )

No, no one has a CineMAX Very Happy

But I have one thing in my mind: the smallest digital circe (that is bigger than 1 pixel) would be a '+' using 3 pixels in each dimensions, for a usable circe you'd use more pixels, but that won't be good for astig, so you stuck at square shaped dots. And I am pretty sure the pattern generators in the projectors were designed to operate in 4:3, so at 16:9, the aspect ratio of the generated test pattern isn't good, making worse for the square-dots. On the NEC I always found the dot pattern to be square shaped somawhat, the better the focus you have better the square you get, so actually you could be proud of your square-dot pattern Wink

The internal patterns in the CineMAX are pretty hopeless compared to the NEC Gabor, so far ive only seen 2 or 3 and I think that is all its got. It doesn't seem to have a cross hair either. There is a cross hatch with square dots, and a cross hatch with arrows, and I don't know which one would be best for astig cause neither of them have round dots.

With the NEC I always set the astig for the screen aspect I was using at the time, which at the time I last did it was 5:4, and being that P16 tubes are closer to 5:4 than they are 4:3 it worked out quite well. The newer location for it sees a near zero projection angle so the amplitude was left almost the same on the 5:4 setting and gave very near 4:3. The thing there is it has 2 internal round dot patterns.

All the other dot patterns I have are very small dots, except this one:

Which as you can see has a blue background, making it somewhat useless for doing blue astig!

Hi,

I've made These just for You. Each is 1920 x 1080 Pixels and has small and larger dots with small and larger spaces inbetween...

My mother used to wore a dress like that. It might not help you but it brought back memories for me.
