Hi All,
I feel like I've had this issue before and just adjusted some pot inside the machine, but I can't find it in my previous posts and the search is not narrowing it down, so if this needs to bump topics, please let me know.
The machine is presenting a lot of thinly veiled horizontal lines on the screen. It doesn't seem to matter what resolution I'm putting into the machine, the results are the same. As it is hard to describe, I have attached a couple of pictures. (I have checked the 17v pot and that's fine).
Thanks
-Jon

My CineMAX will do that in certain situations, but no where near that bad though.

PS3 or Verizon FIOS box via hdmi to HDFury2... been like that for years. Recently replaced Quadrupiler and splitter from Curt. Spaced out on mentioning that earlier. I'm hoping I installed them correctly, or that there's just some part of the set-up I am missing that I can't find in the manuals/tutorials on the site.

Looks like a source problem to me. Frequency perhaps. Have you tried another source to port 5 or even port 2 something that doesn't use the above equipment.
Does it do this when displaying internal menus?

Yes. It does this when displaying the internal menus. I'm not sure why the sources would suddenly be an issue after their having been fine for several years. Nothing has changed in those chains. I'm concerned that I somehow did not re-install the Quad, Splitter or EHT correctly. Curt had tested them and replaced one or two; that's what was re-installed. thanks

Sorry, internet has been down at the Motels over the last few days, had to sit on the toilet last night to get some WIfi..termporarily.
I think the HV is OK, there's no real 'wrong' way to install the parts. Check to make sure the leads are properly seated in the HV splitter, that can cause arcing lines. See if the issue goes away if you disconnect one HV lead going to one tube, leaving the other two tubes running.
iIf you're going to unplug HV leads quickly. make sure you touch the tip of the HV lead to the chassis to ground out any residual HV. the 8" tubes don't store much, but you will feel it if you brush up against the tip within a minute of powering the set down.

Even though you may not have changed anything and the chain you have has worked well for some time there is nothing in that that prevents one or more of the devices from developing a problem. Disconnect everything from the projector and see if the internal menus still display the issue if yes then the problem is in the projector and not a source issue. If its in the projector I did have a similar issue with a H-Shift and Focus board.

Well... I've tried all of the above things, to no avail. Unplugged all the sources: it is hard to tell since I only get the menu text, but it does seem to be doing the same thing in the green selection "bars." I also tried unplugging the leads in the HV splitter one color at a time and that did not make a difference... The lines still appeared.
The only thing I have to add at this point is that the G@ board (or something close to it; EHT/HV) seems to be making more of a "hissing" type noise than I had recalled prior to putting the new ones in (as noted above). The hissing noise also seems to change when images on the screen change... sometimes it's pitch changes as well.
blargh... these things are high maintenance.

Well there should not be any hissing from parts. Sounds like a bad cap. Have you examined the boards in the area that is hissing you might be able to see the bad cap.
Do you have any spares as it sounds like a projector issue.

You may have some residual HV leakage causing it. Put up with it for a couple of more weeks, and let me send you another HV section incl g2 board. I'll run them for 24 hours before sending them, then replace all 4 parts and send me back the originals. I'll bet that will cure it.
Shoot me an email around Oct 28, as it will take me a few days to catch up on things when I get back.
thanks~!

I have a similar annoyance. After hours of moving parts between my spare projector and the main. I was able to determine the problem was located in the convergence output board. Has anyone seen similar distortion?

Welcome Randall, but please start a new thread. We don't know what make and model your projector is.
