I would love to get my NEC 9PG plus projector up and running after seeing all these wonderful images. Maybe someone can help me out with some ideas or tips on what I can do. The gentleman I got my projector from had his mounted on the ceiling. When I brought mine home I rewired it to sit on the floor and now the picture is upright. The problem is shortly after getting the image flipped and working on converging it and adjusting it out the image went dark. Before it was a very bright clear picture but wasn't converged or adjusted. Now the brightness is about half and sometimes the image seems to have rolled in half and flickers sometimes. I know it sounds weird. Someone mentioned that I may have leaking capacitors on the video board. Does it sound like this? The good thing is that when I picked up the projector from the guy he also gave me an extra PG plus and an extra PG extra to use for parts or whatever along with two ceiling mounts, a Pronto universal remote, the tethered wired remote control for the plus projectors and a HD Fury III and quite a few HD and standard cables. Any help in getting mine setup and running as it should be would be awesome. At the moment we have a little digital BenQ MS513 projector running and my wife likes it. I can't wait for her to see the difference in image quality when my CRT is up and running properly.

Thanks,
Paul

Try shifting the image to one side. You may have went off the tube and the raster rolled over on itself reducing brightness.

reduce size and shift the image over and see what happens. I don't have an NEC so an NEC guy hopefully chimes in.

It wont be cause its off the tube face, and its probably not capacitors on the video output board either. It would probably be in the DEF board if anywhere. Dont adjust anything on there that isnt meant to be touched.

How is it connected? Press POSITION on the remote and see if moving that does anything, if youre going through the HD Fury 3, hold the image shift switch either left or right for a few seconds til it resets to center, then use the projector's menu to shift the image inside the raster.

If its not that, turn the set off and spray some contact cleaner into the pots on the DEF board and give plenty of time to dry, also clean the yoke connections.
