Sony 1272 Thinking of getting a computer to use with it. Windows 7 64 bit - I'll hook it up using rgbhv to a sony switcher. Use a wireless keyboard & hook up to the internet using my wireless internet
Is there anything I should be sure the computer has so it works good on the 1272? Just regular computer use, not for dvd's. My Blue Ray player is for that.
Tv tuner card maybe?? Any ideas appreciated

I myself have a preference for NVidia graphics cards to tweak non-standard resolutions and refresh rates and gamma curves and so.
I guess ATI has those tweaks too, but you might want to shop around a bit first.
And think how you're going to hook up the audio. Digital or analog, and where it should go next

I also use Nvidia card.
Try to use one with good decoder h264, there are some not so expensive ones with nice response.
Always try to use the hardware configuration instead by software.
Tuner card will be nice also a DVD player, some times, In my case, I see better result playing DVD's on the computer thn the BP.
A nice Sound Card with Optical Conection that you can connect to your Receiver also will help

Oh. Well excellent. This will save you a lot of time.
I recommend to start with 1280x720 @ 72Hz, and go from there.
There is a guide on the CP-website, but it was written for NECs.
The procedure is about the same: do the electronic convergence (and possibly alignment) again for the computer.
1] turn off Red and Blue
2] make sure the center of the (green) picture is on the center of the projection screen
3] adjust height and width of the (green) picture, this is relative to the video signal, so you need to do this for all sources.
4] turn on either blue or red, and do the convergence again.
It has been years since I last used a Sony 12xx., so hopefully,
someone with a better memory of such a projector will chime in.
