As in this one here: http://www.curtpalme.com/Projector_Rankings.shtm

I started with a banged up old Sony VPH1001-QM which resides at the very bottom rung and somehow clawed my way to the top of the list!! A couple stops along the way, even viewed my digital a couple times, but you cant rush these things Wink

Where will i go from here??? Bigger home might be a good start!!

Yeah.... I started with a Sony Vidimagic, then a 1020 and finally ended with a Runco 990 with many others in between.

And now a digital, but there is peace and harmony in the family. But I'll always fondly recall the journey.

Ditto. Went through several Sony 12xx's, then graduated to a minty G70, which served me well for several years. Dreamed of a G90 or 909 since the beginning, but the G70 was so good and the G90's and 909's always too much money my taste, so I never upgraded. I went digital last summer, and am generally very happy with the decision, but I'll always have a soft spot for CRT.

Yes i went from the start not knowing anything much about CRT setup and learning abit on that pretty basic Sony with all the help ive received here, moving up to a 9PG before i ever got to getting the Sony on the roof, and over the past few years of going through setups on a few NECs to get to where i am now, and if it wasnt for getting that old Sony and this forum, id have likely never got any further than portable digitals.

Lucky i stuck with it eh!! Smile

started with a mitsubihsi pk20with a 60 inch screen(4:3)it was small and pretty dim(really dim compared to my ecp)

had a few other digitals over the years till i got fed up with the lackluster picture from them

i have a optoma h27(its a entry level dlp)which i used for years before i got fed up with buying lamps(having the thing ceiling mounted made it a chore to replace the lamp) which is slightly brighter then my ecp(with a new lamp)

my first crt projector is my electrohome ecp4101(from curt of course(awesome guy))

soon to be in service is a nec 10pg(which btw has near mint tubes with less then 2k hours)

so i will have gone in this order digital->electrohome ecp 4101(no acon as i don't need it)->nec 10pg with 9 inch tubes(40,000 to 1 contrast)

My first rear projection was a lxi ptv515 and I got it free(I tweaked the knobs on the convergence board to get a better pixal densitaty and bumped up the g2 levels slightly and the set gave an amazing picture)
I currently have a samsung rp HDTV I am repairing(you know that one case)
