Does anyone still make the curved aluminum screens that were common with CRT projectors in the 80's? I like the way the image looks on them, but it's hard to find a big one that's still in perfect condition.

That looks like what I'm talking about, but they don't seem to sell them in the US, and they don't even hint at pricing.

I want the 4:3 18 gain screen to play PC/PS2/PS3 games on.

Quake 3 excessive on a 141" screen from 10 feet away. Barf bags not optional. Laughing

They use to have a US presence in Portland, but that was years ago.

Your best bet is to try to find a used VUtec UHG screen

I have two of those screens brand new in 60" and 72" diagonal sizes, 4x3 format. They have a gain of about 10. Let me know if you want one. My email address is davidsobers@aol.com.

Hi David, were these off a SONY front projection or RCA or Mitsubishi? Any damage?

AnalogRocks -

These screens were manufactured by Marv Hodges, Inc initially located in Florida and later California. I had tried several manufacturers (Schudel, Vutec, and others) and he had the finest surfaces, gain and uniformity of images. The screens are new unblemished, and in the original box.

Jeremy -

I will offer the screens for what I paid for them. I need to look it up, but it will be several hundred per screen plus shipping. I have no idea what shipping these will cost, but know they have to be trucked as opposed to the usual methods.

I believe I still have the wall mounts and possibly a screen stand, but I have to check. I will get back to you when I have the time - early next week. BTW, I live in Maryland, so someone in the area could simply pick them up and avoid the shipping issue.

David

Jeremy -

I was able to find my records on the screens. First of all, the gain is listed as 11 and not 10. The price I paid for the 5 foot screen was $285 and $390 for the 6 foot screen, not including shipping. I have not looked for the wall mounts and screen stand yet, but will once I get the time. I also found the product literature and can provide you more details about the two piece construction, weight, and so forth should you like. Let me know if you have any more questions.

David
