TV/Projector: Vidikron Vision 1 - Ultra

Posted: Sat Apr 06, 2013 2:59 am    Post subject: Picture & Grid Stabilty In Short Retrace Mode

Hi,

Just to share in this forum on how I'm able to achieved picture & grid stabilty in short retrace mode.

Previously, I set my Vision one in long retrace mode as my picture & grid start wriggling whenever I change to short retrace. This is very disturbing but I still think that short retrace mode give a better picture as compared to long retrace mode.

Dennis has modded his HDM to make it stable but the mod is quite costly which I'm not keen.

I have many spare boards and decided to take focus board heatsink and installed it on my HDM board.

After replacement, the picture remain stable for the past 2 weeks and I'm convinced it will not cause any issue to the projector.

Hope that this will help others who prefer short retrace mode but have no choice and use long retrace mode because of picture instability. Short retrace mode will also be beneficial for those who do not have a video processor to shrink the image to fit the raster size. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Photos of focus board heatsink installed on my HDM. Do take note that you need to cut the HDM housing as shown in the pictures.
