Hi Guys,

Just need some confirmation here. I bought new P43 tube and did some modification on my VNB by removing resistor R37 and drilled through pin 6. Before I fire up my projector, I just want to be very sure that the G2 wire should be connected to pin 6 instead of usual pin 2.

Can anyone please confirm this is true?

Its the PT22-19 green tube and not Lug.

I dont think the P22 needs to have the VNB drilled out. Are there any other numbers on the markings?

I'm not sure, but don't do anything before someone else confirms.

This tube is from VDC and manufactured in 2011. For L09 tube, grid 2 is on pin 2 while Pt22-19, grid 2 is on pin 6.

However, I just need someone to verify this before I start firing the projector.

I sold him this tube and the tube I recall as being unique. The OP doesn't have a multimeter, but I recall that this tube had a special pinout with the G2 on both pins 2 and 6. With a multimeter he could check this for certain pretty quickly to see if there is continuity.

I had forgotten about this odd pinout, and when the OP fired up the projector the image was very dim on the green tube even with G2 at 100. I think some of the G2 voltage was draining through pin 6 R37 on the VNB.

For this tube I think that once pin 6 or R37 is removed from the VNB that the G2 may be connected to either pins 2 or 6. I tried this tube in my G90 and used G2 on pin two and cut the trace to pin 6.

I would suggest getting out a multimeter and testing to see if pin 2 is connected to any other pins on the tube. Don't fry the tube please!

The OP removed pin 6 from the VNB and connected G2 to pin 2 as on a regular Marquee tube. Everything is good now Smile

I remember reading that on some barco tubes or was it ampro tubes they had pin 6 broke off. I bet that is what this was for. Break off Pin 6 or pin 2 depending on PJ.

Exactly, I just don't know what the other projector was.

I should have broken off pin 6 before I sent out the tube. But knowing me, I would have broken off the wrong pin and then been screwed Wink

same pinout as a lcp09, i am sure as i have a green pt22-19.
