Does anyone know what the correct part number is for the audssey set up mic for an Integra 7.8 ? I cant get audssey to run it keeps giving me an error on the right surround speaker, I called integra and they said it was probably the mic. I bought my Integra on ebay and it didnt come with a mic and I was using the one from my Denon.

Well a guy asked this same question on AVS a while back and nobody there could anwser it either. It isnt in the manual. I was on the phone on hold with Parts and sevice for 45 minutes then it turned 5 o'clock and the recording changed and said there was no one available to help me at the current time. I wanted to scream.

I don't buy it that it's the mic. That's a cheapie condenser mic, their cost probably $.02. Smile

Try moving the mic closer to the right speaker to see if it picks it up.

It's not getting proper signal transfer because the speaker wire is to thick.

Curt, I tried that. I tried raising the levels. I tried changing speakers and wire. I tried making sure the mic was perfectly level. I spent almost 6 hours trying everything I could imagine. I spent almost an hour (today) on hold with Integra support and I finally gave up and got an 800 number for Onkyo which not only give me the correct part number but sent me a link to order it online for 15 bucks with free shipping. The guy also said if it didnt fix it I could return it for a refund no questions asked. It should be here in a few days. I will post the results.

I bet its the receiver circuitry for the Audyssey and not the Mic. Maybe thats why they sold it on E-bay. Any mic should work.

Try doing a master reset (if it has one) and starting over.

I see nothing in the manual about a master reset. I'll wait and see if crabb knows.

Try this:

1: Press the "STANDBY ON" button to turn on the unit.
2: Press and hold the VIDEO 1 button, then press the Standby/on button.
3: After CLEAR is displayed, unplug the unit.
4: Plug back in and see if your settings were neutralized.

Try VCR/DVR + Standby while the 7.8 is turned on, Jeff.

FYI, I think reset will nuke any/all custom settings like input names, input assignments, speaker setup, and any Audyssey/EQ setup. It will be like you just took it out of the box. Just so you know!

Thanks steve, Thats kinda what I figured, I was going to do a more accurate in depth set up anyway. I just like the way AUDESSEY works on movies. Music is completly different I turn it off for that, it just sounds wrong even in 2 channel stereo.
