or anyone else who feels like chirping.
I hung that big Samsung LED flat screen Sweeeeeeet. I have all my HDMI sources cinnected to my Onkyo AVR and one HDMI cable going to the Samsung. There seems to be a significant difference in the signal between the Motorola HD (Fios) box and my Sony 400 disc BD changer. IF I calibrate for the BD changer, the Fios is to bright. This is where I'll miss my projector. One input and many channels to calibrate. The only way I see to do this with one cable from the AVR would be to use a HDMI splitter at the Sammy and go into two HDMI inputs. Ust HDMI 3 for BD and HDMI 2 for Fios.
Any other suggestions???

If I had to take a guess, I bet either your BD or Fios box is sending RGB 0-255 and the other is sending 16-235. The best thing to do for video is to send 16-235.

You probably don't have a setting to change this in your Fios box, but you most likely do in your BD player. It may be ok for you to just change the BD player such that it matches the Fios.

You'll find a setting in the BD player for either 0-255 / 16-236, enhanced / standard, lighter / darker, or something else like this. Try switching it. You may even have a setting with choices for RGB 0-255, RGB 16-236, YCbCr 444, and YCbCr 422. YCbCr is going to give a better image but it's always 16-235. So if you find that your BD was set to 0-255, switch to YCbCr 422 and go with that.

Geeze. Type-O when you're over tired. Bust your balls for having a AmPro and bust your balls when you get rid of it. Laughing
Thanks CRAIG. I'll look at the BD player. I know those settings are there.

Way over tired. I'm still fixing problems related to the blizzard. Cheap generators raise havoc with digital controls.
You can't run a whole house with a generator you can carry with one hand. But that's what many tried to do.
One town just south of me had their mains repaired by the power company using the wrong transformer. Instead of getting 120 volts per leg at the meter they were getting 150 volts per leg. Rolling Eyes

Yep, that was it. I had it set to RGB (0-255) for the projector. I set it to YCbCr (4:2:2) and calibrated the input using the BD player and Digital VE. Then I swapped back and forth and they look very close now. Thanks Craig the calibration guy.

Digital video.

Computer video specifies black at level 0 and white at level 255.

TV video signals are specified for black to be at level 16 and white to be at level 236.
