Hello guys,

I am getting ready to attempt my first Blend Setup, i Have the following projectors to play with:

Kal's (ahem!) Zenith 1200 Pro which has P16LNP tubes , Lens HD-215
Marquee 8500 with 144s Color filtered/corrected (180DGB22 i believe)
Barco 808s with worn out Green with (P16LNP) with 120 Mhz RGB amp. Lens HD8b

The obvious to me is to use the Marquee with Color corrected lenses with the Zenith 1200 which also has color corrected lenses. The problem i predict is that: Will i see one side much sharper than the other on the blend because of the difference in tube quality?

I wish i could use the Barco 808s but it's not color corrected and the green is bad. I believe if one side is corrected and not the other i'll never get proper color scales correct?

Can someone please shine some light? i'll be using a software called Immersive Display pro. Which worked wonderfully on 3 digitals i setup. Maybe someone has a Green P16LNP for sale?

I don't think you'll get a good blend at all, sorry, but it's definitely worth trying. FInding two used projectors that aren't retubed of the same make and model to show identical colors is going to be difficult, throw two different brands and models into the mix, one LC and one not LC will be a nightmare...

If you try this though, and want a deal on a mint 8500 with HD144 lenses, or a second Zenith 1200, I can assist.

Hi curt, yes i know matching it is important, i had hopes though that the zenith being so close to a 808s i would be ok. You know there is no such a thing as Zenith 1200 pro Projector it's a Barco. Which one would you think would give me a better image? 2 Zeniths or 2 Marquee 8500?

You need 2 matching projectors with the same lens type.

BTW it's not possible to get corner focus with the HD-215 lens. This is a must for a blend.

What about

-a set of HD8's or HD144's for the marquee/barco
-cut the P16 out of the LC housings and move these in a set of AC housings for the barco

This way you would have 2 AC projectors with the same tubes and lenses!

It be better if he found LC housings for the 808 or the Marquee.

LC does blending better.

True but the cost of a set of AC housings and HD8 lenses VS a set of LC housings and 2 sets of lenses Smile

You KNow what, I happen to have a set of LC Barco Tubes!!

I have no Idea if the tubes have any output but they look in good condition and have
the colored C elements. All you'll need are a set of the HD 2-15 lenses!!!

How about 300 for the set?

I think they are P16's they look good but the HV leads are cut. Sometimes that means the emissions are low if it cam from
a place where they use the PJ in a simulator.

But maybe they are not. 300 is really for the housings , If i knew the tubes were functioning Id sell the set for 600.
So thats why 300 for the LC housings.
