Hello

Just look at the focus board; if it is fully covered in devices then it is an Ultra.

Also, the front label will say 38P-152xx

Hi,

Tim's advice is very valuable because the FGM (Focus Geometry Module) is essential to Ultras.
On board level the attached list could be of help. It might be more difficult if the PJ has been upgraded from a non-Ultra. For example a Convergence Amplifier Module (03-262330-01P non-Ultra) with additional resistors and wiring performs the same as a stock Convergence Amplifier Module (03-262350-01P) from an Ultra. Same applies for the Vertical Deflection Module and the DBP Module. An upgraded machine also might not have the six-pole flare magnets at the tubes...

there are many original ultras without the 2-4-6 flare magnets.

just luck if you find a ultra with them.

Great list.. Thank you very much.

Its suposed to be a original 8500 Ultra, but one thing i noticed in here is that it that there is a lot of board swopping.. So just to be sure ill like to check.. The idea is to move my 9" Vidikron tubes into the ULTRA chassis.

The six pole magnets in the Ampro 3600 do they fit in the Electrohome.. I know where there is 2 defect Ampro 3600 with six pole magnets..

Hi,

I think so. As long as the tube neck diameter is the same...
