I thought about this for about 2 minutes. There is nothing I could do with it except have it take up more space, which we don't have enough for all my crap now.

Ha! Nash! That projector in my avatar is my 8500. That's a shot from when I re-tubed it and did the low/HV power supply and neckboard mods.
I did get a reply on the PJ looks as if its mine but I have been unable to contact the gentleman on the phone today. He wireless service says he's not available. I'm going to try again tomorrow. Before I take the drive to pick this thing up I just want to be sure it's actually a decent upgrade from my 8500. Is it? I figure anything LC is goon to be worth it.
How big is this thing? Is it going to fit in the back seat my my 2003 jetta on its side?
Thanks!
John

YES!!!! I just got off the phone with the owner of the 10PG after a 45 minute conversation and I'm so darn excited I feel like I'm going to throw up!!! My wife is pretty excited too! Now all that's left to do is find a friend with a truck (left messages with a few) or rent a truck and hire a helper for the day. Even with a rental I'd be way ahead with this deal. I keep you all posted with this little adventure as it unfolds. This might just be the best Christmas ever!

I'm all done with CRT. The only reason I'll put my hands on one would be to help someone else or lift one off my foot.

First, Thank you very much to the generous man who so kindly gave me his equipment. I am forever grateful.
After a 7 hour round trip I have returned home with the projector and other goodies. I have it powered up and running right now for testing purposes before I remove the 8500 from service.
Wow! Heavy! Once the pj was loaded into the shipping container it was pushing 400lbs.
So I fired it up and the hour meter is clocking in at 854hrs. Not quite the 275 but still very low!
In addition to the pj I picked up a Panasonic DVD player with SDI output. TAW Rock and a Taw Rock Pro. Current design CVT-100. BNC cables. NEC switcher. NEC manuals. NEC software. Remotes for everything.
Time to setup and enjoy.

Welcome to the NEC camp (another marquee guy switched to NEC. the enemy is weakening! )
I am curious what differences will you find after setting up the NEC properly between the marquee and the NEC, since the marquee has better signal path (bandwidth), but the NEC has sharper tubes.
