Projector does not work. Have LVPS light on the back and a flashing red light (second to last, outside going in, or the second red light going out from projector center) on the LVPS with a clicking noise.

Does it need replacing?

Each LED represents a voltage line on the powersupply, if a led lights that means the actual powerline is overloaded, so when you se an error light on the powersupply it is mostly not the powersupply which is failing. Try to pull out the main boards (HVPS, HDM, CVA, VDM, FCM) -one at a time- and let's see if the machine starts.
Anyway did this pj worked before, if so what happened?

Yes it worked. I hooked up my brother's Mac and that is when it failed.

YOu most likely have a short in the set somewhere. Usually it's the focus board or a bad neck board. Disconnect those one at a time and see if the set powers back up.

Hello

Your +85 is shorted out; the neckboards and HDM are the boards that use +85 volts. Unplug the neckboard 14 pin cables, one at a time, and if it is not a neckboard, pull the HDM out of it's slot.
