I've read through the VP50 manual at the following link: http://www.dvdo.com/documents/DVDO/DVDO_iScanVP50_PG_ABT_081706.pdf

However, I'm still left with a few questions regarding any limitations on processing 1080p sources. Does anyone know if there are any, or does the whole host of processing/framerate functions apply to all resolutions (aside from obvious ones like deinterlacing for progressive sources)?

Specifically, there's a line on Page 28 of the manual that gives me pause:

"Locked mode (2:2 or 3:3): For standard definition interlaced sources the iScan can detect 2:2 and 3:2 pulldown cadences and convert these to either a 2:2 or 3:3 frame repetition rate. The main advantage of this is for 60 Hz sources using 3:2 pulldown, as the irregular 3:2 pattern can be converted to 2:2 at 48 Hz or 3:3 at 72 Hz"

This implies this conversion is limited to SD sources, but that's not mentioned anywhere else. I still have my xbox 360 with HD-DVD drive, and a small collection of discs. The xbox only outputs 60Hz, so I'd like to put 1080p60 (or 1080i60, I guess it doesn't matter) into the VP50 and get 2:2 1080p48 out. I also need to modify the porches as described in more detail below. Is this possible?

Secondly, and I'm pretty sure this is possible, I need to take 1080p60 from the xbox (a video signal, while playing games not movies) and modify the porches to get the image to fit within the raster. As many have noted, when I feed 1080p60 from the xbox to my Marquee, it's cutting off a huge portion of the image on all sides. Short retrace helps but it still cannot fit the whole image within the raster, and I'd rather run long retrace.

Many thanks for your help!
Ben

Unfortunately, no. I bought a Lumagen HDP instead and decided to live with its well-known 1080p input limitations (24p, that's it). It has other benefits like the 11-point grayscale adjustments, and within its limitations it seems to be capable of damn near anything, where the DVDO products seem to have sneaky limitations. This is just my opinion based on what information I've been able to gather.
