I'm a totally newb.

I recently acquired a G70 with a FULL HD V2 card installed. The problem is whenever I try plugging in my brand new Panasonic DMP-BDT220CP blu ray player, there is instantly no picture and a series of clicks can be heard from the projector. Also the menu is so scrambled you can't read anything.

I don't believe it's the card since I can plug my laptop in and it works just fine.

I configured the blu ray to output various resolutions like 720p, 1080i and 1080p but it's the same.

The linked and det lights are on. The 16-232 and 444/442 lights are on and the YCbCr/RGB light flashes with the clicks.

What am I doing wrong??

Thanks

This happens even before you try playing a BD?

Make sure the 24FPS setting is off on hte BR player. How long is your HDMI cable? If it's over 6', then try a shorter HDMI cable.

It happends immediately when the BR player is plugged in.

The 24fps is off on the player. The color output is set to RGB on player.

The cord is 15 ft, I'll try a shorter one when I get home.

I don't have the card remote but I do have access to one. A coworker suggested that maybe the previous owner set the input color space to a different setting and turned auto detect off which may explain the clicking and light flashing. But, is the V2 configurable like the V3?

I read another post about somone complaining about a Panasonic not working and a Samsung did. Unfortunately I don't have another HDMI source to test it other than my computer. Is it worth a shot at buying a Samsung?

I can't see the colorspace causing the behavior you're talking about - it should just cause the colors to be wrong.

I don't recall what the menus look like in the G70 with a Moome card installed, but could this be a setting in the G70, like sync clamp? That may not even come up with the Moome board - I can't remember.

Can you use an alternate display to force the BD player to output only 720p or something to see if the behavior changes?

Just remembered what I was thinking of in relation to this subject:

Not sure it has any applicability, but it's worth taking a look.

I have the clamp set to auto but I can't change it when the BR player is hooked up since the menu screen is inoperable since the screen is completely scrambled. I tried to change it when my computer is hooked up but when I hold down the memory button it says that it's saved but I never get the memory options window to come up (separate issue).

I'll try changing it to clamp H/C like that post but I need to figure out how to save it so that it doesn't revert to that when something new is plugged in. That is REALLY frustrating!

The only other sync options I could find is 1 or 2.

I hooked up the blu ray to my TV and changed the output from auto to the various output formats and none of them worked.

If a 6' HDMI cable doesn't work you will need to try another BD player.

Try plugging the projector and bluray player into the same power outlet

The pj and bd are on the same outlet. Guess I'll exchange the BD for a Samsung or Sony and try it.

Well I got a tiny bit closer. Exchanged the Panasonic for a Samsung. Turned it on and saw the splash screen as clear as day!!!! Then it went back to the oscillating input/no input and absolutely no video and sometimes I get error 10.

Yeah six foot cable. Maybe my card is crapping out. I have the exact same problem as this guy but he's using a HD fury and fixed his problem with an external power supply on his fury. .

http://www.avsforum.com/t/1176271/sony-g70-panasonic-bd80-hdfury-sync-problems

Except I can see the frequencies change on the input settings screen. I did put the card in another g70 I got in the "package" deal and had the same issue so maybe it is the card and it can't handle higher frequencies.

My coworker has an HD Fury I'm gonna try next I guess.

hmm maybe I wasted 200 bucks on these projectors!

If all you paid is $200 for a whole package, you got a steal, so you didn't waste $200 at all. Not even close.

The G70 is an excellent projector; it takes a $2000+ digital projector tomake a comparable picture, so $200 is a smokin' hot deal on one G70, let alone two - and with a Moome card to boot. You said the projector works fine with a computer, so you know the projector and card are both fine. It's a cable or a setting or the source. Stick with it, and you'll get it working.

I had/have? two Moome cards here I tested in my Sony switcher. One source was fine and the next was flaky

Hey, I wonder if your DIP switch on the card is set wrong? Hmmm

Which card do you have? Is it the one with the dual HDMI inputs or the HDMI/Component combo card?

I have the dual HDMI one. I know there is something wrong with the input A side since the link light never lights up and I always get a no input.

The previous owner thought the card was broken but I am hoping that he was trying to use input A.

It was on his ceiling so maybe I'll try pushing all the boards to make sure they get good contacts. What frequency does a BD player usually give?

Here is that guy's video of what is happening, it looks like this but worse.

Here are some pics of my card. I am assuming the dip switches are the jumpers?

Dumb question but does it matter if it's a 3d blu ray player not playing 3d discs?
