Ok so I needed to check a couple things on the new PJ and I thought what the hell,I got all the stuff right here,the pj is on a creeper now so I can roll it around Why not throw a cable on and get a look. Now I havent done any set up at all because I am putting in a new C element and ceiling mounting soon. Anyway I go and get a hdmi to DVI cable and a double female hdmi connector and plug it all in. (The G90 has a DVI card in it.) Pop in a bluray and hit play. Roll the pj forward get reasonable focus and wait for the movie to start. It starts flashing(mostly red) then it is flashing bands of darkness across the image. The areas that are bright are beautiful and sometimes the whole image is clear, but not for long. I assume its the hdmi to dvi cable and get my Fury 3 out to see if that solves the problem. I hook up the RGBWB and go to menu but cant figure out how to change the input.
It goes like this... BD to 25 ft hdmi to double female hdmi to hdmi to dvi to dvi input board.
I would like to try using the fury 3 before I go any furthur,

Easy peasy. Go into the service menu, and get both the sync and the menu line above it out of 'auto'.

Select separate sync, or whatever other menu choices there are. Auto always causes streaking and flashing.

That will be a $10 charge, to offset the 2+ hours I spent with my first G90 swapping a crapload of boards out, trying to find the problem!

I cannot get sevice mode to come up.
It worked earlier but not now.
through remote or built in panel.

IS the text or display button on? THere's something that defeats the service mode from coming up, I can't remember what though. Craig will know!

I powered off and on and then it worked. So now i found INPUT SETTING it gives me the following options
sync sel:
auto
S on G
C
HV

SYNC ROUTE Available options are
Auto
Normal
Sync W video

Tried all available options Still flashes Going to try a few other things
Set SYNC SELECT TO S on G
set Sync route to MORMAL
still flashing after trying several combos

Just changed CLAMP to H/C
No more flashing

I take it back, about once a minute it QUIVERS for lack of a better word.
Sorry I dont know the correct terminology.

Oh my god ! The mechanical isnt even close and I cant believe the brightness

OK I changed the clamp to H/C
and the SYNC SEL to C
No more flashing at all.
I just wanted to make sure there were no issues before I hang it and have craig come over.
Now I see what all the fuss is about I cant wait to get it dailed in right.
Still dont know how to change the input to make the fury work, Not really an issue now unless the moome goes out though.
I guess I can hang onto the DVI board just in case.

Which DVI card is it Jeff? If it's JohnHW's card that is actually a really nice one.

There is no markings at all on the card, just a red light a green light 3 screws and 2 small holes.

Yeah, Thats the one. I pulled it out. Copyright 2006. The bar to handle it with is missing,thus the 2 holes.
