|
|
Hi everyone new to the board. I have two Zenith Pro 900 projectors and both have just started with the kinda the same problem . Both pictures are very dark you have to turn the sharpness way up to see anything. The one we use everyday stays dark and nothing changes we turn the sharpness way up to see anything but then the picture is just washed out. The one in our theater room starts out fine but then all of a sudden the picture will just go real dark but after about 10 minutes it comes back then it may stay good for the rest of the movie or go dark. theres no telling when its going to happen . Should I be looking at the RGB BOARDS? And if they are bad can they be fixed.
Thanx Mario

you turn the SHARPNESS up?
On both, see if the brightness and contrast controls have any affect at all. I suspect that at least the one that's permanently dark has one or the other control that does absolutely nothing. If so, then yes, it's the main RGB board that's bad. I can repair them, and unless you have a scope and a meter, it's not something typically that even a good solderer will be able to troubleshoot and repair. The other one may be the same problem, but I'm surprised that it's intermittent.
I used to charge $250 a board to repair them, but could do both for $300 incl return shipping, assuming the second one has the same issue.
Cheers!

Yes I do turn the sharpness up an it makes it so you can see the picture but it's all washed out . I had to do that to both . Like i said the theater projector went dark but came back for awhile. I Will start taking them down and getting the boards out . Where do I send them?

The "sharpness" is a thing which only appears (and only has effect) when you use composite or s-video input, have you tried feeding it with an RGBHV cable from a computer?

always shocoked to see people still running composite or S cabvle , 480i VCR quality video. You just want to run over there with an RGB cable and show them what they're missing
