Hi guys,
I discovered some cracks in the epoxy of the focus stabilizer. Projector is Cine 8 and it runs without problems. Still, is this something to be worry about ?
I do have a spare G2+diagnostic board but an older revision (same R number 7625061).
Should i replace only the focus block or the entire board ?
Thanks.

Hi,

fortunately this isn't the focus stabilizer but the resistor pack for the G2 voltages. So the voltages are significally lower and a crack doesn't automatically present a risk in terms of arcing. The cracks appear over time as the resistors inside heat up and cool down with each on/off cycle. The case and the sealing only have limited flexibility and it's reduced over time.
If it was my PJ I would use some insulating lacquer, apply it onto the cracks and simply live with it.
If any replacement was necessary I'd replace the entire board.

I think i'll put some thick nail varnish on it.
Thanks a lot, i'm less worry now...

Lots of them do it over time. They do fail, but rarely, so don't worry about it.
