OK, here's one I haven't seen before. I know Craig is over in Germany right now, so I thought I'd post this for others.
Had a customer with a completely dead G90. No red '88' error code when you first turn on the main power switch. In the 3 or 4 Sonys I've had like this, it's always been one of the two power supplies. Customer sends me the two power supplies, they check fine.
While it could be something in the fuse assembly, the other possibility is the Dallas chip that's original.
Now, I don't think I've had a G90 in here with a bad Dallas chip that caused a totally dead set, but I'm wondering if that's a possibility?

The dead dallas's that I have had including a bad YA board I have here now usually spits out a code 30. Of course I guess depending on whats corrupted in the dallas data may give different outcomes. Swap the dallas and see what happens.

That's the idea, but
a) they are on the way to me
b) The customer is way out of town.
If your experience is that a dead Dallas chip will at least flash the red LED with SOMETHING, then I should send him the main AC input board behind the AC receptacle.

Well I just took the dallas off that YA board (empty socket) and when switch is flipped on I get red 88, orange 88 and green 30.

OK, that clears that up, thanks! Why didn't I try that?
I'll be sending him an AC input board, fuse holder, etc.\
I guess it's possible that the power supply section of the Ya board has an issue, but they're not known for that, so we'll leave that as a last resort.
Thanks!
