Having an issue utilizing my HDFury3 with my JVC D-ILA Projector (DLA-G150CLU). The picture displays fine using a regular DVD Disc but when I use a Blue Ray disc, the picture is split vertically (showing two of the same frame one above the other with a color barcoded pixel between the images). The DVD player is a Pioneer Elite BDP-05FD. The HDFury3 is connected one end to the VGA output and into the projector's VGA input. The DVD Blue Ray player is connected to the HDMI input on the HDFury3. I cannot figure out why this is split screen is occuring. Anyone have any ideas that might help me??? Thanks

It would help to know if you have just implemented something new OR has the equipment been the same and it just started to happen? The Fury 3 essentially just transmits what is already there, on the surface it looks like the player to me, however, the fact that you are getting a proper picture with a standard DVD along with the fact that the issues start only when playing a BR disc is very strange. I am sure others will chime in here.

Set the pioneer to output 1080i max... That should fix the issue.

Thanks for a reply! You were the first and I will take whatever advice I can get. I am totally frustrated!!! I went through the available adjustments. The Pioneer Blue Ray player does not have an adjustment for 1080i or 1080p. It probably automatically adjusts for this. Any other suggestions from anyone is appreciated. As I indicated, it produces the image for regular DVD's just fine. Its just the Blue Ray discs that project the double image (vertically). It is essentially projecting the same frame split on the screen.

You can set the DIP switches on the HDFury3 to tell your source to send a max of 1080i. Download the HDFury3 manual from their site.

Thanks. The HD Fury3 does have a DIP Switch which allows changing the 1080P maximum to 1080i. I switched the 1080P off and it did not correct the problem. It reflected no change in the projection of the horizontal duplicate picture with the pixed space line between images. Does anyone else know why this may be occuring or how to fix it? Thanks to those who offered suggestions thus far.

In reference to Ron W's post, this is a new setup for me as I recently purchased the HDFury3. Therefore, nothing has changed with the equipment used. I too, think it somewhat unusual that when playing a non-blue ray disc, it projects just fine! The problem seems to be associated with Blue Ray (I did try several different Blue Ray disc titles). I have contacted Pioneer regarding this issue (excluding the fact that I am using a HDCP stripper). The only suggestion they had was to update the firmware on the Pioneer Elite FD-05 Blue Ray player. I am currently waiting on the firmware update Disc to arrive. However, I am not sure that it will address the problem. Could this be related to the fact that I am using a VGA to connect to the projector as opposed to a DVI or RBG cable?

Try using the image shift on the side of the HDFury3, you'll need to make sure the shift is enabled with the DIP switch.

Thank you ecrabb and analogrocks for your kind suggestions. I finally discovered how to successfully change the setting on the Blue Ray DVD output to 1080i (versus 1080p). It is not doable (is that a word?) on the unit but there is a button on the remote control that allows you to switch it. Low and behold that fixed the problem with the dual image!!! However, now a uniquely different problem occurs. Now there is "no sound." DON'T YOU LOVE IT (LOL). So now, I have to figure out how to get the sound working. I have the sound output from the Blue Ray DVD player using the Digital out to my Pioneer Elite receiver. I even tried using the optical PCM digital output but that does not produce any sound either. It appears that by switching the video output on the DVD player to 1080i somehow effects the audio output. Just as an FYI, I only use the HDMI output on the Blue Ray player to the HDFury to the projector (not through the receiver as it does not have HDMI inputs on the receiver). I think solving audio/video problems can become quite a hobby! Any ideas are certainly appreciated.

It is quite bizarre that sound would disappear from just changing the resolution on the player, but since you are you are using HDMI for video only and digital output for audio, this particular player requires the user to go in to the set-up menu to determine the proper output for each. Most newer players run simultaneous bitstream audio regardless of output(HDMI,coax, optical) but in order to achieve the proper functions to work as advertised, the Pioneer models, especially the older ones like this one require a manual set-up in the menu(HDMI/video only, digital output audio). Check your manual to determine the proper set-up here.
