Still troubleshooting this 9PG. In an earlier post I asked about an oscillation I had in the menus. Corrected that with replacement WAVE board. Now the problem is in the video chain somewhere. In the attached video you can see that the internal test patterns work as do the menus. However when I apply a video signal( in this case a 720P signal ) the image is scrambled like loss of sync.
What I have done so far:
Replaced SYSTEM board
Replaced WAVE board
Replaced VIDEO OUT board
Replaced GAIN CTL board
Replaced V4 DECODER board.
About the only things I haven't replaced are the neck boards, motherboards, and the input board.
Any Ideas????????

Its the DEF board mate. I think you have a spare there dont you?
There is a handful of pots up the top right of the DEF board as you look from the back of the set, H.OSC 1 and 2, F/V.CTL2, F/V CTL1, and F/V CTL3. Before you adjust any of those, see what happens when you move the swtich labeled NORM and ADJ, it should be on NORM.
H.POSI might aslo have an effect on it.
Before you adjust any, mark exactly where they are first so you can set them back. Maybe even spray abit of contact cleaner in them with the set off and move them back and forward to try cleaning them first off. Also have a look for leaking caps around there too, if they havent been replaced they will almost certainly be leaking.

Well it is very strange, normally I would think it is the deflection board too, but since you have stable menus, and internal test patterns I don't think so. The deflection board does not make difference between internal and outer signals, when I rebuilt my deflection board it needed recalibrate all those adjustments what Case saying, and I can say if the problem would be on the deflection board then the menus would't sync either. Are you handy with the oscilloscope and DMM? Because before you'd adjust anything on the deflection board you can check quite a lot of thing on the test pins. I would think it is the system board (which generates the main sync signals) but you've already replaced it. What about your signal source, what is it? Have you tried a composite video signal on it?
EDIT: With this scrambled image all signal information is appearing to be right: Fv, Hv, sync type?

Yeah ive had this happen on mine though too with stable menus ( although youre right, that is very rare, normally it is both ), and i adjusted a couple of those pots there and fixed it. Previous owner of my 9PG played with them all, it wouldnt lock to anything when i got it.
What happens when you send in a signal to Composite or S-video?? Also, what do you get if you try 1920x1080i at either 50 or 60 Hz?? What about 576p or 480p?

Tell us abit more about how the signal is getting to the projector, what is the source device? Is it going through an HDMI to RGB-HV converter such as a HD Fury 3?
If yes to the HD Fury 3, try switching off the image shift, or at least resetting it to dead center again, the instruction manual will tell you how.
Are the H and V around the right way?

Source is just a dvd player feeding a DVP1000. RGBHV cable from DVP1000 to projector. Same issue when I connect S-Vid or composite.
