|
|
For some reason, I can't control my 8000 (v2.0) over it's com port. I've tried sending serial strings - nothing. I tried the Marquee Control software from here, and it indicated the projector wasn't communicating. I verified that the baud rate is, indeed, 9600, and the projector is set to ID 001.
Here's the odd thing - I plugged into the switcher port, and I suddenly control everything - except power on. Does this sound right?
On a related note, I have a controllable power relay inline before the projector. Would there be any problem with just setting the projector to auto-power-on, and kill the relay to turn it off?

I have a Prolific device for my USB -> serial, but it doesn't work from my AMX master, either.
If it's no problem to just hard power it off and on, I'll just stick to that method.

Hello
Marquee On/Off and Standby commands require more pulses to be read, a second or longer.

I'll probably just end up cutting the power.

You're thinking of IR, not serial control, right?

I can't say I know with the Marquees, but I can say ALL MANNER of my engineering lab equipment using serial communications get mad if I don't have a USB to serial that has the FTDI chipset. I use the UT-882. Specs PDF via usconverters.com is here. Things do weird, partial communications with the ones I tried before OR didn't work at all...wonky, at the very least...
