hello. i've done some magnetic adjustments on my 9500lc ultra after installing 6pol magnets(i still have some triangularity, but some improvements is achieved). When i am trying to adjust the focus yokes for raster centering it just seems that the adjustment range is to small, way to small. so i still have to use the remote for this. i've noticed some hot glue on the yokes and have removed it but do have to loosen them up more or is this normal?

i have also been thinking of buying "franken yokes" for the projector. I will post some pictures of my setup in this thread later.

What I've done is take the focus yokes out and separate the two plastic sections, as sometimes removal of the glue on the outside isn't enough to get free movement of the two parts that move around. Take the brass nuts and bolts out completely, and separate the housing, then reassemble. You can slide the focus yoke out the back of the plastic housing once you take the metal stopper plate/shield off the back of the plastic housing assembly, no need to remove the whole tube again.

That should do it for range.

Also, when doing mechanical astig around the tube, I unplug the electronic astig connectors to make sure that they do not affect the mechanical magnet settings at all.

great tips! I thought something had to be wrong. I will try this then. If buyng the sony g-90 focus yokes this function will be lost, right?

one more thing about this. I know that the convergence will drift more if this is not set up good mechanically but will it also afect the astig. I mean does it afect the shape of the dots as well. Next time i have a free day i will play with this. thank you(spell check did not work this time)
