I'm trying to figure out how big I can go with 1.0 or 1.1 gain material in a dedicated light controlled room without cooking the tubes in less than 1000 hours. The manual has some crazy big numbers which are more for marketing than real world applications. I also have the darker green C-element which is going to reduce output a little.

I currently use a 100 inch 16:9 screen which looks great but I'd like to go larger. Thoughts?

It depends on how bright you like your image. Have you considered a Torus?

Yes, but I'm a cheap so and so. Unfortunately a Torus isn't an option.

I don't think a Torus is that expensive to build.

Guys

G90s are becoming cheep, so repeat after me, "Blend! Blend! Blend!".......just do it! 120 to 130 inch screen width no problem. Or, get the larger 1.0 screen and add the second G90 when you retube the first one.

Tim,
Please show me the way to the cheaper g90 units. I continue to search via craigslist and others for a back-up and I am having a really hard time finding even a "junker" g90 (for a decent price).

I really do not have the space to blend or even stack, but heck, I am a "willing soul" to try. Confused

And, thanks to you, I am able to re-tube my current unit. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thanks Big Dog!!!

In my opinion, if you use 1.3 gain 8ft wide max.

1.0 gain I would go even smaller.......

Big Dog!!! Wondering where you were/are. Hope you guys are well.

I know, I know, it is a really great picture now. Really, it is. We are spending more and more time watching from the g90 then we ever thought we would. Thumbs Up

Heck, you know I dont have the room for stack/blend; wishful thinking.....................
