Yeah the bottom seems to have fallen out on the Bluray pricing except for new big studio releases.
Although those use to be $32 now I see them for $24.95

Yeah, I've noticed the pricing getting a lot more aggressive now, too... We were just in Target this afternoon, and they had a brand new release (50/50) on sale for $14.95. That's at least $5 cheaper than a new on-sale release would have been a year ago.

They also had some "triple-feature" packages with three movies for $17.99, I think... So, $6/movie. Even Worst Buy had some good prices a bunch of catalog and new release titles.

I'd like to know if it's economy-of-scale on BD, or if all the streaming services is putting price pressure on, or if it's the economy and they weren't selling, or?

Yeah I was wondering the same thing myself.

If you look at DVD's release back in 1997 it took allot longer for prices to start to drop.

One thing they have done recently is cheapen up the case by removing a bunch of material. Which is fine I guess....I watch the movie not the case...I copy all mine to a media server anyway so I use the disk only once.

I hate those cases too. But even more I hate when everything is packed in just cardboard, like the new Star Wars BD collection. It opens like a book and you slide the disc into it's slotted out page. They are a real pain in the ass to get out. I want solid cases, and a case for each movie.

Cost containing bean counters. Evil or Very Mad

That's how Alien's box set was packaged. Man you have to be so careful pulling the disk or you drag them across the cardboard and scratch the disk.
