In the GREYSCALE & COLOUR CALIBRATION FOR DUMMIES tutorial, step 8.5 discusses adjusting the CMS 'Hue' and 'Saturation' controls for all six primary and secondary points to their correct x/y standards.
It indicates that one should pay attention to the Y (luminance) value as well such that the Y doesn't change while the x/y changes. It reads, "some displays have poorly implemented colour management systems that also affect the Y value. You may end up getting the correct x/y value and a CIE chart that looks right, but the light output may be completely incorrect which ends up making things worse than before you started!".
Both my displays that I am planning on calibrating have all three controls for each of the six colors for CMS 'Saturation', 'Hue' and 'Lightness' (value, brightness). The guide offers the specific standard for (Red, Green, Blue) Y values as a specific percentage of 100% white, but I don't find any mention of Y value for the three secondary colors.
How is the CMS lightness control adjusted for Cyan, Yellow and Magenta?

The lightness for each secondary is the sum of the lightness for the primaries that combine to make it. Check out this thread:

Scroll down to "Color Definitions" and check out the table - the Y column is the lightness for a given primary or secondary as a percentage of the display's light output at 100% white.
