|
|
Hello
I just picked up a sony 1251, which was built in to a really big projection tv, build in the tv, everything worked great.
I took the projector out and now I'm trying to project on a big screen (5x4 meter or 196x157inch).
MY PROBLEM; I can't focus, do I have to do something with the lenses or do these projectors have a fixed distance??
Thanks for all the help I could get

Here's the manual. Start from page 1 and go forward. Seriously, if you've never set up a CRT, you need to go through the whole manual. they are not plug and play, and will need 3-4 hours of setup, but if the tubes are in good shape, it will show a better image than a lot of digitals. Also read the FAQ, which will teach you about CRTs.

What lenses are on it? They may have been changed.

Bingo. I'm guessing the lenses you have were designed for the shorter focal length needed in a rear projection arrangement. Install the correct lenses for front projection and all will be good.

Post a pix of the lenses. If they are LC and you have a rear projection version, you may not find larger lens screens. BTW, 5 X 4m for that set is wayyyyy too big, too big for any CRT projector really.
