I am not new to using and adjusting a CRT projector but I am not sure how to adjust the gamma boost to get the best picture. Any help would be appreciated! TIA

you have to give us a little more information. Make and model machine you are using, etc. Certainly start with the faq pages on this website. There is a good guide to roughly set up your machine.
