Why was this movie made? This seemed like a TV movie of sorts. Using the SR71 in another role as something that can hover, and using the Bell H-13/HTL-4 as a Soviet period helicopter was a bit much. I quickly concluded this movie was meant for people born well after M*A*S*H went off the air.

And the pre-NOW CIA agent MacTaggert was more than willing to strip down to some sexy VS undies in order to find out where some 'important' people were going in a Las Vegas Casino? How was she not in Hef's Playboy?

And finally, Erik could pause dozens of artillery shells and guided missiles coming at him, have the finesse to turn them about, and then have the ability to project them back at their points of origin, but couldn't stop a handful of bullets from one person?

I expected more from this seemingly SyFy-ish attempt at a background check. And while my expectations were not high to begin with, I was let down tremendously.

I liked it. Unfortunately with backstories like this, you are somewhat handcuffed on creativity.

They brought in the SR71 because how else would Erik be in the air when he performed his magical sub-lifting trick? They should have developed an X-Men Boat.
