I ran through the projector diagnostic test and it indicates EHT: fail, but projector is working normally, what should i look out for? sometimes when i start up projector, it turns on then off and finally on again and everything is normal from here on.

THe EHT fail in the menus means that at some point in time in the set, the EHT went into protect mode, probably due to a tube arc. Not sure how to wipe that memory clean.

I've had several 909s shut down the first time you turn them on, then they work fine. I haven't diagnosed that yet.

I agree with Curt. That message could be the result of a many not really to be concerned about reasons.

So the best thing to do is to ignore it, because they are coming from that dumb diagnostics board, which almost always have an EHT failure showing.

The best thing to do is make sure your controller board has the latest firmware and that it also has the latest component upgrades... that would be a few parts soldered later onto the board. I used to know the board part number extension that showed if it had these changes already done, but don't remember now.

Anyway, Curt should be able make sure you have both latest firmware and added parts. You also may want to do the SMPS upgrade while at it.
