There was a thread on AVS comparing the Meridian 'reference' with the Barco Cine 9. One poster said the Meridian (rebadged JVC 4K) was seriously underwhelming.
The depreciation on a unit like that doesn't bare thinking about......

Bah! A Guy I work with has a JVC digital projector that cost $250,000 new. Now he can't even get $7500 for it. And it's only 7 years old.

Well thats more realistically priced than the $99K the seller in Hong Kong wants for his Meridian (JVC).

I think he deleted his post or I missed it, but that was Coldmachine who didn't like it. One person's opinion and I considered him biased. He always talked about how great Sim pjs are. Anyway, I haven't seen the Meridian, but I have seen the JVC. I have said it before and I will say it again. The JVC with 4k material is probably the best image I have seen. I know Crabb thought the JVC was equally impressive. Is it worth $175k or even $99k used? I have no idea. It puts out a gorgeous image and can light up a twenty foot screen, which is probably worth something. Of course with the new Sony 4k and forthcoming DLP 4ks, it may not be as unique as it once was.
