|
|
Hello,
i finally got around to setting up my Zenith PRO 900x and this site has been a great help so far.
And thanks again to Curt for sending me the new HV and V boards.
But i have run into a few problems and i'm not sure whetever i have made a mistake somewhere along the way or if it is a technical problem.
I tried to setup the Raster following the "Tube/Raster Setup" Tutorial.
I removed the lenses and turned up the brightness until the raster lit up.
With the brightness turned up there is also a line visible that looks something like part of a sine wave (see picture). This is not visible when i turn the brightness down. Is this normal?

From this point on i'm pretty much lost since a lot of things seem to be named differently.
I tried to stretch the raster over as large an area as possible. But now the top of the image is distorted. (see picture above)
Also the left and right edges of the picture seem to be messed up.
If i change the key value, the H from the test pattern on the right side isn't moving completely but is being stretched from the edge to the center of the image. On the left side it's just the opposite and the H seems to get compressed.

I hope someone understands what i'm trying to say ^^
Has someone set up one of these projectors before and can roughly tell me what i need to do in what order to get the raster right?
Whats up with "Blank Setup" and "Static Setup"? They were in a menue seperate from the other convergence settings. Do i need them for the raster?
Are these distortions from a messed up setup or could there be another problem?
And the final question: The blue tube seems to be tilted. I can correct the image using the skew option. But is this the optimal solution, or is there a way to adjust the tube mechanically?
Thanks

Is your blanking set at 0 ? If so change it to 10 or so until the wavy lines go away.
The zenith was my first pj. It took awhile to figure that one out and without my friend I would never have got it fixed.

That line you described first is normal, in setup mode there could be stranger lines as well even at normal brightness settings, but they disappear in normal watching mode.
The other problems seems to me technical problem... anyway, was there any input signal applied when you tried to set up? It even can be earth-loop, or a lot of other non projector related things as well.
You should download the setup-manual for this machine from the site, It is strongly recommended to read that through first, the setup instructions are well written, and you should follow it step by step.
