Finally, had my Vision 1 cover that i picked up from Curt painted by my body shop; color change from white to piano black. I think it goes with the decor much better than standard E-home cover. Only thing left is to fabricate a aluminum sheet metal mount for the ACON unit.
BTW, If there are any Vision One owners out there who could snap a shot of their ACON mount it would be really helpful to my fabrication efforts.

This was my first time of setting up the PJ (last time I had it ISF'd) and wanted to make sure I could easily access everything and also be able to move it. Good thing to because the throw distance calculators are way off and I had to go through much trial and error to get things right. In addition, if i need to do any maintenance it's much easier when it's sitting on the ground. Perhaps in the next house it will be ceiling mounted (as part of a blend;-))

Nice work!
+1 however on ceiling mounting it. You're losing the absolute best seat in in the house. You figure out the right throw my moving it around on the floor first (max the image on the green tube and move the projector forward until it fits the screen). The measure the throw distance and do that on the ceiling. Built a unistrut mount that has some movement in all 6 directions for $50-100 if needed. Done!
You can also hushbox it then too.

That's how I did it. It makes it easy to max out your green tube face and removes most possibilities for error.

That PJ looks too good to cover it up with a hush box Kal.

Nice looking Theatre BTW, Love the seats...
Was it expensive to paint the cover & did you do the prep yourself?

I had always hoped to get my hands on the Vision plugs that were kicking around here for a while a few years back. They seemed to have vanished. I wanted to use them to make a cover set from carbon fiber in clear so that you can see the mesh. I think that would look way cool.

Kal gets a woody over uni-strut. He must own or have stock in the Co. I think he'd hang the Mona Lisa with it if he had the chance 
You have taken the time to make it visually perfect. If it is set up perfectly on the floor, it is easy to transfer the correct location to the ceiling. In your case, the feet from your projector will leave compressed marks on the carpet below it.
You can move the projector out of the way and use a plum-bob to transfer those marks on the floor to the ceiling (exactly). No measuring required and you can use a factory mount to retain that clean pro look.

I designed the seating platform in a T shape to specifically accomodate the PJ. The ceilings are low in the room and snaking wires through a fully finished ceiling would be a chore. I'd probably have to cut it all up, then run the wires through and finally patch it up and re-paint it. Just seems like a whole lot of hassle that I'm not sure I want to deal with at the moment.
Derfla had the molds but he didn't respond to my email inquiry so not sure if he is still around. I need to fabricate the ACON mount so I'm hoping someone with a V1 can snap a photo.

Not sure what he did, from looking through old threads I think he made a couple but it was just too much work with no ability to make a profit. Hi-Rez has molds (supposedly acquired the originals from Vidikron when they bought them out) but they want a whopping $3500!
To Cinema Mad; thanks for the comments on the seats. We really like them:-)
Regrading painting the case; it should run $300-350; however that means there is no patch work or repairs being done to the fiberglass. That can easily run another $150-200 depending on damage.

That would have been me  but.... it never happened.
He lives in a semi rural area and trying to arrange for a courier ( too expensive) or shipping Co. ( too big a PITA to set up ) to go to him to pick up the molds killed it.
These are BIG moulds and would need to be packed and boxed really well for shipping, probably a pallets worth of volume....
The other problem was that there was some mold damage that would need repair and the parts were not all one "married "set so parts would require a lot of handwork to prep before painting. A very cool and worthwhile project but at the time there were only a few people seriously interested in spending some money and that would not have even covered my shipping costs.

Hi chaps...
These Marquee covers really are the business are they not...
I have had a few come my way in the past and have one in that lovely black
finish on my 9500..I also have 3 cover sets on units in the garage right now..
That is a Vision 3 without the opening for the acon and this unit now takes pride
of place in a mates home cinema..
