Does anyone know what type of lenses will work for curved screen with CRT? My screen will be 2,35:1 .. about 103-106 inches. I'am about to buy a Sony 1292 PJ. Not sure what lenses there are on now as of yet though.

Not sure what you mean with a torus.. If you mean what brand I haven't bought it yet. It's in any case a Swedish brand i guess. a 700 dollar deal or so.
I will use my Sennheiser HD650 for hush box in the beginning.
Now that I read up on CRT agai, I realize that people are agreeing on LCD/DLP to be far crisper then CRT, and the only thing going for CRT are the blacks.. Not sure I want to buy it anymore.

Just to let you know.. I found side by side screenshots between Digital and Sony G90.. I foound that CRT won by a hair. But learned that blacks can't be shown exactly as in reality and therefore I will go with 1292. It will due fine for me I think. A brand new blue tube comes with it to so.. And who can argue about 1100 dollars for that.. The Panasonic PT-AE7000 will go for 3500$ but thats 3 times the money..

You won't need special lenses for that light of a curve..the stock 1292 ones should be fine.

that is on a vutec torus (expensive and not available anymore unless you can get 1 2nd hand) with a m9500ultra.
recently saw a new type jvc, 3d capable and all and my projector blows it away, there is no comparison.

Thanks, both of you.
I had a 9500Lc also, with about 8-8-8 rating, but never got around to go get it. Left it with the seller and sold it to another guy and made a small profit. The recent projector I had was a Mitsubishi HC3800.. for 1 day.. because I sent it back the very next day. I couln't beleave the grey picture it put out. And I relly made my effort to find a resonable prized projector that could show 2,35:1.. and with blacks that one could live with.
HC3800 screeenshots below shown on a Stewart G3, i think. The picure looks nothing like the one I had witch was absolute sh*t! I had to black out all the windows completly still the picure lacked both color and live feeling. It had obivues grey haze to it and certanly lit up the room also. Okej, I use an ordinary white screen, but still.. that kind of sh*t couln't suit anyone. That said, I must beleave that screenshots of digital can't be near what they acctually produce irl. Look at the pictures below and tell if it dosen't look black as one would like it to be. I for one would be very happy with that!

Scroll down this and have a look.. some of the pictures look rather fine.. Maybe the G3 and other high contrast screens is a must for this pj, I just didnt think it would be that bad with white surface.
