|
|
This just started happening. Last time I used the projector, everything was fine, about 2 weeks ago. Now when I power it on, I get the 62 error code:
Manual says:
This protect works when the 115V line of the power source is dropped. The line is used on DC/EBR/EBG/EBB boards. There are two possible modes for which this protect works. One is the failure on the OUT circuit of the above boards. This case can be readily found out because the error code for each board is displayed simultaneously. Another case is caused by the excessive Reg/Mg compensation. In this case it is necessary to look into whether the Reg/Mg waveforms are normal. If they are abnormal, look into DA/DB/DD/DE and YA board.
Now, I've tried unhooking the C137, C138, and C139 lines from the EBH board and retry but I get the same error. I then removed the C136 line and retried, same error.
I also reseated the BA and YA boards, but again, same error.
Anyone have any idea what I'm up against here?
Note, I had this problem when I first installed it and this error changed to something else (don't recall) but I was told to take the leads off the EBH as described above and it worked. I reset all the adjustments to normal and recalibrated OK. Like I said, it's been running well for quite awhile since that problem was resolved.
But now I can't get past this error, it shuts down within a few seconds of turning it on.
Is this internal or truly a possible issue with the line voltage? I've tried plugging the projector into other outlets in the house but that didn't help.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rick

My guess would be the power supply itself, or an overload on the power supply. I can repair and test the boards, as I have a test chassis here.

The main power supply boards. I'd send in both of them, they slide out from under the perforated cover when you take the top off.

You may want to try swapping the EBH and the EBQ boards to see if the code changes.

Sorry, are these the long boards attached to the ED Block that swings away from the chassis? I'm looking at two seemingly identical units with large heat sinks on either side. Are these the DC and E Boards? But they don't appear to slide out, they have screws with slip holes attaching them to the cover. They look to be about 6"x12" each
Sorry, not too techy, just enought to get me in trouble. I have all the service manuals so I am trying to identify exactly what boards you are talking about.

Sorry, our posts crossed each other. I tried swapping out the EBH and EBQ boards and still got the same error.
What I was asking is the identifying letters for the main power supply boards that you want me to send you.
I have the diagrams but I cannot find a list of names for the boards, just the letter identifiers.
Thanks for your patience and response, I appreciate it.

Just a nudge to see if someone can give me the board indentification information so I can pull them and send them in to you for repair.
Thanks,
Rick

I don't have a chassis that I can take pix of that's accessible right now, but I'll try and describe it.
Take the top cover off and look at the back of the unit. Above the PC boards that slide in the back, the RGB input board and the CPU board, etc, is a metal perforated cover. That cover is held on via a few screws around the edge. It's about 2" tall, and runs the width of the projector. Take that cover off, and you'll see two more PC boards. Those are the two power supplies.

OK, I think I have them but to double check it's the perf cover directly above the RBG input and there are two boards, one marked GA and the other marked GB. The GB board is about twice as wide as the GA board and together they run the width of the projector and are a couple of inches high.
If that's all correct, please tell me where to send them.
Thanks!
Rick
