Hi, I just got my first CRT projector and doing my best to learn how it works and how to make the basics setups.
I got this wierd problem I can't seem to find a solution to; my blue is really high up and lowering the convergence won't get it low enough to align with the rest.
I'm guessing I'll have to manually align the whole blue tube? Hope not, as I'd like to learn more before doing such things to it...
Normal problem? Help?

Your blue focus coil on the tube neck was probably knocked around when the projector was being moved. It's not a difficult thing to fix but you should be aware of what all of the components are under the hood since to adjust the focus coil position you will be working around very high voltages.
If you haven't familiarized yourself with the Marquee layout you should read this first:

Then when you have a good understanding can reset your convergence and loosen up the wing nut on the blue focus coil and align it with the green. This is the basic explanation only. Hope its a good start for you.
edit:..... you should reset the projector and start from scratch doing a basic quick setup just to make sure it's not an electrical problem.

You can. I wouldn't. THere's really little voltage around the focus yoke, it won't shock you. Unless the set is arcing HV, there's really no way for it to shock you, but wear rubber gloves if you want.

Oh ,been there, done that. Was super scared when in Grade 8 I discharged the 25Kv from a 19" B/W tube TV. I was expecting a lightning show, massive sparks, hair standing on end. When I got the nerve to put the screwdriver under the anode cap, and got a tiny 'tick' as the remaining HV discharged to ground, I got over it.
When I accidentally touched the anode lead of a live H output tube and got thrown partially across the room a few years later, I regained respect for high voltage.
(if you're too young to know what the anode cap of a H output tube is in a color tube TV, never mind what I just typed.)

I would first try to do an initialization of the set to clear any corrupt memory block.
You need to get into the service menu.
Press utilities, 9(service menu) then enter the pass code 0901 now look for in the menu for initialize Projector, select initialize all settings.
The PJ will now power off. wait a minute and turn it on again.
now follow the onscreen help guide to set up the PJ.
press the help button on the remote and then select mechanical guided set up. follow the instructions.
In this set up guide you can move the Grid around the tube so this might pull the blue back into the correct position.

I'm 24 and got experience with electronics, but something similar to your accident happened to me and I now respect signs a lot more, haha...
Nashou66 : Will try that first I guess, as I feel like a complete fresh start of a used projector is a good thing to do first.

also make sure all the yoke leads are oriented to the correct configuration, in your case probably floor mount ?= scan normal

Yeh screen isn't upside down or anything just really off. But I've decided to get it mounted on the ceiling, huge group of friends coming over with tools, ideas and raw muscles.
But if I'd follow the linked guide my yokes aren't in the correct slots......?

Problem solved! The blue blaster didn't have any of its wing nuts attached properly and one nut where missing, thanks to the PJ being previously ceiling mounted, it somehow aligned perfectly.
Damn scary fiddling in such cramped areas while it's turned on.

once you get it up and running you might want to re-set convergence and do the whole raster centering + flare+ stigmator adjustment for optimal focus and sharpness.

Glad I could help.
Draganm is right......you should definitely look into flare, stig, raster centering to get the best performance out of your projector. I'm sure you really want to get into enjoying some movies so you could do a basic setup using the internal help menus. Enjoy some movies for a few weeks while studying the following about raster centering, flare and stig:

Do take your time to be sure you understand all of the steps involved. The first time I attempted this it was a long process. I've been through it three times now and can say it's much easier to execute the process.
Good luck and feel free to chime in with questions.
Also, once you understand all of the procedures you should check your setup before adjusting anything to be sure you actually do need to make any flare/stig adjustments. You may not need them. I would recommend the raster centering regardless though.

dam good advice, don;t forget to watch movies and enjoy it more than you fiddle with it. People who constantly screw with the projector eventually get an LCD.

Believe me, I should have taken my own advice. I spent much more time tinkering than enjoying and I ultimately purchased a DLP and sold my ECP projectors. I realized my mistake after a few years and picked up a Marquee. Now I absolutely spend more time enjoying than tinkering. Now when it is time to tinker I still enjoy it too.

LOL. My rule of thumb is 6 months watching for every 6 hours fiddling  . Actually hate fiddling with my personal machine, got the HD mod's mule in the shop for that.

Nope, no nuts. Lots of screws missing on this machine sadly.
But I got it for $880! (about 400 hours have been used on it)
Also, I really enjoy tinker with things, and it will be enjoyed as my friends will probably wish to come over and watch movies all the time when ever I manage to get it up on the ceiling...

400 hours of use and lots of missing screws seems contradictory. Possibly the hours meter was reset either deliberatly or fro ma sfotware glitch/module-swap. At any rate don't forget to check the P14 filament voltage, huge problem on machine built in 1996/1997
