I have traditionally had my lumagen hdp on port 3 on my data 808, I purchased a new
device to handle my hdmi receiver output and attached it to port 5 on the data 808.
anyway after adjusting so the output matches the lumagen on port 3 I have a good picture
the contrast settings ended up at 77 for the port5 and hvae always been 56 on
the port 3 lumagen connection. I figured port3 might just be brighter than
port5 so I swapped the lumagen to port5 and my new hdmi device to port3.

Interestingly while the new device is a bit brighter on port 3 and the lumagen
is much dimmer on port 5, I wouldn't say port 3 offers a better picture for my
new hdmi device. In fact, the focus is not as sharp, oddly enough I found
port 5 gave the hdmi/vga device a better picture than port3. I did have to
bump up the contrast to about 77 for the port5 hdmi/vga connection to get
same level of contrast as lumagen hdp at 54 on the port3.

In my experience port 5 is better than port 3 on a BD 808. The BG 1209s seems pretty close on both port 3 or 5.
