Hi everyone, I'm now the proud owner of a Barco 1209s with only 500 hours on the tubes.
On my previous 7" crt pj, I have projected onto an 88" horizontal width 4:3 screen with satisfactory results.
With the 9" tubes of the Barco I'd like to go a little larger on 4:3 screen. My installer says 9' will work, but other experts say to definitely not exceed 8'.
What are people's opinions out there? I will be running a 1.2 gain Beamax M-tensioned screen in a very light tight enviroment.

I project 8' wide 16:9 with my nec xg, and I've got the contrast turned down slightly from default. I think that 9' 4:3 with a 1209 in a light controlled environment would be just fine. You will probably wear out the tubes faster though, as you will run the contrast higher on the larger screen.
