Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what the PFC stands for on this PJ please.
Are the parts interchangeable with earlier Barco 808s?
Is getting hold of parts difficult for this model?
Any comments app'd
Tim

PFC should be power factor corrected.
Parts interchange question seems to vague and would need to be more specific but I'd let curt answer that one.
Same with parts availability.

I'd have to see pictures of the chassis, specifically around the power supply and AC input board. A 909 has a special PFC correction board, but I don't think the 808 did that. Post a couple of pix, and I can tell you.

I think i need to know if the Cine 8 was a wholly new series in a 808 chassis or was it based on the 808 series.
By parts i meant the 6 major boards (except the PSU) the quad, splitter etc etc, I'm not expecting all of the parts to be exact just what would fit or would need modification to fit.
I don't own the Cine 8, there's one on Ebay (UK) that's peaked my interest.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220773184059&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123
Seems it needs work so that's my main reason for asking about parts.
I wasn't really interested in another 8 inch PJ ( i own an ageing Barco Graphics 808s) however it is highly rated on Curts charts.
Tim.

I think that Cine8 have new HV section
http://www.curtpalme.com/docs/BarcoServiceBulletin_R762716_New_EHT.pdf
So if you have older HV parts you can't repair it.
Cine8 is a BG808s with some coloured parts
..... and useless LIMO board.
The real upgrade is Cine8 Onix (or Zenith 1200 pro) that have hi-rez LC tubes.

Yes you can easily repair a new BArco HV section with older HV parts. There's been lots of posts here about it.
I completely agree with your second sentence!

One of these posts was mine because I have modified with success a frame of an BG808s/E.

But Is necessary to disassemble whole projector.
