|
|
So I'm messing around with some arcade stuff and I've got two light gun games I want to get working on the same cabinet/monitor.
One, Invasion, runs at 15khz and plays fine on my monitor.
The other, Ninja Assault, I think requires a 31khz monitor. Mine is only good for either 15khz or 25khz.
I say "I think" because the operator's manual calls for a 31khz monitor in the wiring schematic.
Just throwing this out there since I'm currently at a loss.
I was thinking of finding an old 4:3 tv that will do 480p, and just line-doubling the Invasion game. Dunno, watcha think?

Grab a mitsubishi CRT like the ones they used for backstage monitors. Most of those are 4:3 480p/31KHz

Like he said, Mits XC-3730C will do pretty much anything up to 1080p...its 4:3, and VERY heavy(I've got one it the garage, I should know..._) It won't take component, only RGB, video and S-video...

There was another series that would only goto 31Khz. There was a guy on craigslist trying to sell one last year.

I think the lower scan one was the XC-3725, but I'm not entirely sure, Mitsubishi certainly made some good crt presentation monitors in "the day"...too bad they're all 4:3...

Ahhh maybe that's the difference between the two models.
Was it you that was looking for the Sony pro monitors in 32" that could do 1080?

Sure, it could have been, I likely didn't advertise that fact though, I don't like to elicit competition, generally speaking....
I'd likely take one of those Sony pro models, I assume you're talking about the widescreen one, its an HD studio monitor, I think ? There was one visible in the last episode of 30 Rock...
I'd buy another 24" widescreen Sony computer monitor too, if I found one cheap enough...

Hello,
NEC had the Multisync line, If you check my name you can see that I was once sitting in front of a NEC XP37+(37"). It it even mentioned in the NEC XG brochure (scroll down to the conference room picture). They also made a NEC XP33 + and non plus. All of them scan 15khz and depending on the model up to 110khz. They were used for Mame simulators because they are multisync....and thy go very cheap.
Best regards from Munich
Marc

That XG brochure is quite interesting actually, especially the part where they mention the 3D imaging with the XG projector series!
Good luck on your find!
