Hi all

I have a Sony 1271 CRT with 5 BNC input and a Panasonic GT 25 50" plasma display with an HDMI input

am looking at the DVDO VP50 as a processor for my setup

Seems like it is the ticket for me

Currently I have the Samsung SIR t360 and that has worked ok till I got a PS 3

The SONY can only render 1080i so I can use the component out on the VP50

the Panasonic can do 1080p and can use the HDMI out

any thoughts?

Just wondering are you sure it is even still available, that is, unless you are able to get a used one from somewhere. ABT discontinued that model some time ago.

I have owned one and honestly I did not enjoy it. It has no CMS and the Gamma correction is weak/lacking. If you can score one used and those things do not matter to you then go for it.

You also might still be able to buy a B stock from ABT.

I personally could not live with those things. It also has issues with some HDMI devices (Scientific Atlanta cable boxes) and the priority input switching does not work properly if at all. It will also not pass HD/HDCP protected content to the BNC out if I remember correctly. I just used a Moome EXT. Box with mine to pass HDCP content.

I'd say look for a Lumagen. It is by far a superior product but, at a cost......

It honestly will depend on what you want out of the device.
