|
|
Hey guys, playing and figuring out my Radiance in the system, and I think I have a problem, but not totally sure.
So my setiup has my source (Oppo 93) going to the radiance, then output 1 is going to the Marquee to an internal Moome card and output 2 is going to a Denon AVR 4311 for audio. Global audio setting is Always passthru Output 1 EDID. I am getting sound, but even if I am playing a blu ray in DTS HD, the receiver is still only saying its receiving PCM Multi Channel In, and not switching on its DTS HD decoder.
So my quesiton is, is this normal as I do have sound, or do I have a setting incorrectly somewhere either at my source or in the Radiance that is keeping the proper EDID from getting to the receiver?

Nevermind, figured it out. I had the HDMI audio output on the Oppo set to Auto. I set it to Bitstream, and problem resolved.

LOL!!! That is, laughing with you!!!! I had the same stuff. The OPPO fooled me for about 2 hours.... Or, more like I wasn't paying attention!!!!!!!!!!
My problem is: Try to make it work, get mad, then beat my head against the wall; THEN read manual or directions.

LOL, that is exactly what happened. I watched the A-Team TWICE trying to figure out the audio, got pissed, shut it off, went to bed, posted here, thought about it and realized maybe the Oppo was doing something funky with the signal, picked up the Oppo manual, and had it resolved in 10 minutes lol! The funny thing is, played with it for hours yesterday evening, picked up the Denon and Radiance manuals, but not the Oppo. Anyway, I learned more than I ever wanted to know about EDID and the new HDMI signals the past day, so I suppose the struggles were worth something, lol!

yeah it does. Usually I am the person that reads it front to back first. Never would have thought setting it to Auto would not do the trick. Live and learn, I guess lol.
