Can you hear the crackle of the high voltage when you first turn it on?

Can you see a dim glow inside the back of the tubes near the boards that connect to the back of them?

If the HV goes on then off, then you have a bad focus block. if it's the old style single piece one with the 6 controls under the back cover, then it's bad.

Do the 3 colors stay on or do they shut off. I'm still not understanding whats happening.

I do have every part for the PRO 851. If there are no menus on the screen, it's not the video input board. I'd suspect the 9-700 board, as that's what drives all three tubes. They shoudl however confirm that you have continual HV and G2 voltage, as like Mac, I'm still a bit confused as to what the problem is.

It is NOT old style focus block.Power stays on when turned on.On focus block I can adjust each colour so I can see all 3 tubes working fine but not full screen is covered by 3 colours. No menu,no picture if video cable is plugged in from receiver or vcr.Sometime ago I left power on for a day and picture came on.Worked fine for 10 hours.Never came back on after I shut it off.

When you turn up the screen control on the focus block you say that the screen lights up but not the full screen. What area of the screen is not lit up?

When prjector was working fine.In right top corner I could see Input-sign and whole screen was flickring, with "snow flakes".Untill I trurn on dvd or receiver. Now when I turn controls up on fccus block only may be behalf of the screen is lit ,in the middle of ths screen with no sign on it .Just plain 3 colours.
Thanx for help.
I love this projector.

All I can guess is that the 9-700 board is bad. That's the main CPU control board that has all the onscreen menus on it, etc. I've got those at $25 plus shipping if you want to try that.

Hahaha...which middle is lit? Horz or vert. Does the lit area run left to right or top to bottom.

I've been thinking vert failure all along but your not giving me enough info.

The CPU board is the main video board as well. At $25, no, there are no returns, it would cost you almost that much to send it back anyways.

Mac is right though, it could also be the deflection board, those are $10.
