Dear Experts amd Members,

I am a newbie here and recently have bought a Samsung LCD (LA32B450 or LE32B450).
People say that its picture has been set for the stores display and you will need to set it for your own viewing environment.
Well, I do not know but here would like to mention that I am using my LCD for STANDARD DEFINITION and would be pleased if any of you provide an adequate picture setting calibration for my LCD.
I shall be HIGHLY Grateful.
Best regards,
MALIK

Any display, regardless of the type of technology it uses or whether you watch standard def or high def, needs to be calibrated.

I have a free guide here on how to do this: https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=10457.html

There are no "correct settings" for your display that are the same for all displays. You need to calibrate since every display will be different. If they were all the same, adjustments wouldn't need to be possible.

You're not undertanding Malik: Every display will require different settings. Even two displays of the same make and model will require different settings. You have to use a meter and calibrate your display. There's no shortcuts. I can't possibly guess at how a certain display at a certain age is behaving from thousands of miles away without ever seeing it. Nobody can.

Kal... Rather than "calibration", our friend from Pakistan may just want a set of better settings than how the set comes out of the box. The groups over at AVS generally have a pretty good handle on that stuff. Somebody will calibrate a display or two of the same make and model and found ballpark settings where some of the settings should be (versus factory defaults), and while those settings may not be "calibrated" by any stretch, they're generally FAR superior to how the display is set when it comes out of the box.

Malik... If all you want are some settings that are generally better than the way the display came out of the box, go here and search for your display model or another in the same series - someone is bound to have posted settings that will be an improvement:

If you want to truly calibrate your display, then as Kal says, you'll need a meter and software to do that properly.
