I had one of the original Xbox 360 consoles, which after a couple of years RRoD. M$ paid to repair that unit completely on their dime, but I had not been playing on it for the past year. I had been using the Component video for HD as that instance of console had no HDMI.

So, this week I bought a 250GB console, using the HDMI output in the theater to the JVC (haven't calibrated the Sony yet). This thing looks nice (for what it is) and what it cannot do (play Blu-ray). In 16:9 mode I've got a nice 103" diagonal image for playing Call of Duty Black Ops. Of course the added benefit of playing in the theater was they sound.

Originally I thought I may get motion sickness, but I did not. In fact, I found myself nudging the loveseat closer to about 12 feet from the screen. This all made me wonder where the state of gaming consoles will get by the time I reach 50 (about 49 months from now).

Anyone else gaming in their theaters?

Did you get a Kinect for it too? That technology looks very cool...I've done some PC gaming on mine, mostly driving games.

Nah, I would think that is for games in which you are actually not sitting down. Too lazy to make the effort to make it work on games. I do see a lot of nifty applications being used outside of the gaming aspect, though.
