I have a Runco 990 A.K.A NEC pg10, I bought a while back. I was in the stages of seting up the projetor, testing it out. I left the room for a refreshment and came back to the PJ and it had shut down and I smelled death.. Well I get an F8 error.. I have tryed for weeks to fix, replaced several caps and the convergence chips with no luck.. I am desperate now to get my dream projector running.. Call me crazy. but I'm determind to get this babby running.. I'm looking to see if anyone has parts that I can buy and info that would aid in the recovery. I've read that this is basicly the same PJ as a NEC PG9 plus... Are the power supply the same? In the short time I had the PJ running, I was able to find out the PJ only had 250 hrs.. the tubes are silky white.. Any ideas and help would be great....
Hi my name is Leonard and I'm a CRT aholic.

Does the set run without the convergence board in it? This is a plain PG chassis unless someone did a mod to the set.

I tryed unplugging the convergence and the projector will run a little longer but then will cycle on and off.. I did notice that the led on the defection board will not go out... the status display shows 00

what would be better Curt, send you my boards or buy boards from you, I would like to repair/replace the defection and the foucus and c drive boards..and maybe buy whatever I need to turn it into a Plus..
PS I have a couple sets of tubes from a PJ 5000 will they work in the 10PG if needed down the road?

It's probably better if you send me your boards. I am out of a few of the boards from the plain PG now, and until I drive to Tinman's place in the summer in LA, I probably won't be getting replacements.
