I have a potential large tube sale, but I might need a bunch of 180DVB/DMB metal housings that the tubes fit into, as I'm buying raw tubes. I have about 15 dead tubes here that I can steal for the housings, but I'll most likely need 10-15 more. I'll know more shortly.

I'll cover shipping for any dead/burnt tubes that you have, or, if you are willing to take the time to cut the tubes out of the housings and send me just the metal frames, I'd pay $10 each plus shipping.

So if you have some toasted tubes, don't throw them out quite yet, I might need them...

I have a set for sure if you need them Curt. Just need to pull them from the chassis.

Cool! I know there's lots out there, and I knew I shouldn't have thrown out 10+ sets last year as I was stripping sets, but at that time I was only repotting LC tubes into AC hardware, and I figured a stock of 4-5 sets of dead tubes was plenty.

Still working out the details with the customer, so I'll update as I know more.

Be careful when taking those tubes out of the housings, because there's a thin plastic spacer ring at the bottom of the silicone that's easily torn up when cutting out the silicone. You'll want to keep that spacer as undamaged as possible as it positions the CRT properly in the housing.

Having removed that housing from the tube before, and keeping the tube intact, I'd have to say that honestly it's a thousand times easier
to break up the tube and remove it that way instead. Of course this has substantial broken glass hazards, but just take it slowly and very carefully and you'll be able to get the job done pretty easily without bleeding for it.
