i have a similar problem with G70. I adjusted the convergance without input and it was ok, but with signal on - i just canīt adjust the g70 properly. If you look at the second picture, this is the best convergance i was able to get, the blue tube is the problem. It doesnīt work neitehr with moome, nor with hdfury (( what to do???

First off, any CRT projector must be converged with a live input signal going to it, at the resolution that you plan to use with the projector.
Second, the center 'ZONE' adjustment is used for coarse V position adjustment. Everything I see about the pix is normal.

Actually i did toed both lenses as you have suggested, the blue tube seems to be very distorted somehow. That wasn't the case by the other g70 i had and which i could have set up properly.

I agree that it looks almost normal but please notice that i can't correct the bow of the blue tube anymore, it's already on max.

You might have a bad convergence board. Can you adjust the blue parameters vertically at all?

with no input i can, but with signal connected i can not. I used 720p and 1080i from two different sources, in both cases the same effect, blue tube distorted vertically with no possbility to cover it with red ang green - very strange.
Also i noticed that green and red seems to be much sharper than blue tube. I do not know the complete history of this particular projector but seller told me all tubes are about 3500 old..
